Сама я прочла книгу Давида Лялина на русском языке, и с дорогой душой рекомендую как старшему, разумеющему по-русски поколению читателей, так и младшему - англоязычному. Благо книга представлена в двух языковых вариантах. И переведена она на английский с исключительным тщанием самим автором.

Я хочу отметить, что кроме того, что это сборник рассказов, часто уникальных по сюжету ("Расстрел", "Часы", "Идиш"), о родне автора, это еще и великолепный культурный проект. Все русские поговорки и присловья переведены на английский, и вайс верса. История о выбравшемся из расстрельной ямы дедушке наверняка захватит воображение ваших англоязычных детей и внуков. И язык их прадедов, идиш, станет им ближе и понятней, даже без овладения им. Эту книга, в электронном или бумажном варианте, - прекрасный подарок еврейским отрокам.
